Episode 8 is the eighth episode of the E4 drama series Banana. It aired on 12 March 2015, directly after the eighth episode of Cucumber aired on Channel 4.
Synopsis[]
VANESSA & ZARA – Vanessa, a cleaning operator hires an illegal worker but she has dark terrible secret. As the door closes for the last time on the Calico flats, Vanessa finds her world collapsing when Zara makes a shocking confession.[1]
Plot[]
Contract cleaner Vanessa is clearing out a building, helped by Nigerian Zara, who speaks no English. Despite the language barrier Vanessa deduces that Zara is being sexually abused by Jonjo, who runs the hostel where she and other girls , all illegal immigrants, live but knows that if she tells the police Zara will be deported. They find a wad of money and Vanessa tells Zara to travel to a friend in London with it but when Jonjo returns with the other girls she devises another plan to rectify matters.
